Rookwood

How is Rookwood used today?

The Rookwood land is owned by Horsham District Council and leased to Rookwood Golf Club. There is a short 9-hole course and an eighteen hole golf course with seven holes south of Warnham Road and 11 holes north of Warnham Road, on land adjacent to Warnham Local Nature Reserve.

The land has a large ornamental lake and the Horsham Riverside Walk and the West Sussex Literary Trail cross the southern land, which is also home to Boldings Brook and the Red River.

The area is a green buffer for Warnham Local Nature Reserve and one of the joys of walking or playing golf here is that you are surrounded by nature.  It is an accessible, high quality green space close to many residents’ homes. It represents 33% of large green space in Horsham Town.  It is where many people come for their physical and mental well being.
